Overview
A wonderful, kind, and caring family of four traveling to NYC is seeking a temporary, full-time nanny to help care for their two children, aged 2 and 6 years. They will be arriving September 6th or 7th and will stay for around 3-months, though their stay could extend until mid-January, so flexibility would be appreciated.
The schedule is still to be determined, but will be 5 days per week, 7am-7pm.
The family will be traveling with their permanent nanny whom you will be working alongside. They want the candidate to be able to work as a team and ensure the childen are comfortable moving around the city. Their 6-year-old will be attending school full-time, so the focus will mainly be on their younger child.
The ideal candidate will be kind, caring, flexible, and proactive.
Responsibilities
- Creating a playful and engaging environment for the children
- Accompanying the elder child to school and the younger child to scheduled activities
- Should be confident when out and about, focused on the children's safety
Qualifications
- Calm, confident, enthusiastic, and effective communicator
- Full discretion and confidentiality
- Proactive and creative
- Ability to enter a home with an existing structure and schedule, and keep things running smoothly
- Kind, with a good sense of humor
- Understanding of when to step in and out
- Hard-working and responsible
- Comfortable working on a team-the family will have their existing nanny, along with a housekeeper and a chef, and the parents will be involved
Requirements
- NYC familiarity is essential since the family isn't local
- Reliable, discrete, and professional approach
- Fluent English speaking
- To be able to work as a team with their current support system and be a positive presence in the home.
- Fully available for the required term
- NYC savvy with extensive experience navigating the city with children
- Experience working with high-profile families
