Overview
A warm and welcoming family in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a part-time afternoon nanny for their 2 curious and creative daughters, ages 5 and 7. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. Start and end times may vary slightly from time to time, depending on parents’ work schedules. Flexibility required. The ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term position and have a true passion for being a part of children’s growth and development.
Responsibilities
- School pickups (2 subway stops away) and escorting children to/from activities and playdates
- Engage the children in age-appropriate play: arts & crafts, reading, music/dance and outdoor activities
- Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment
- Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
- Homework assistance and reinforcement of positive habits
- Create an environment where the children feel safe and are encouraged to explore new experiences and use their imagination
- Support and follow recommendations from OT
- Child-related housekeeping, laundry, and organization
- Implement parental feedback
- Healthy, simple meal plan and prep for family, including snacks for children
- Proactively research fun activities, exhibits, and community events for the children
- Occasional child-related errands
- Update parents on children’s day
Qualifications

Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $35 per hour, a MetroCard, and 2 months paid time off in the summer, generally end of June through late August. The candidate will be expected to take their vacation during that time.
