Overview
An active family on the Upper East Side of NY is seeking a highly experienced career nanny who can assist busy parents with the care of their preteens, ages 15 and 12. This is a live-out, full-time position with the general schedule being from 7am to 9pm with 2 flexible days off per week and considerable downtime during the day while the children are at school.
When the children are at school the shift is 7am-9am and 2pm-9pm
Overnights, when needed, are from 10pm-7am
Weekends out of NYC are 7am-10pm and overnight
The family typically spends weekends in CT, and the nanny will be required to accompany them.
The ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term position and can start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate morning routine, school drop off and pick up, escorting the child to after-school activities and appointments
- Supervising dinner times and preparation for bed
- Assisting with homework and school projects, and supporting overall development
- Being a role model to both children by setting a good example
- Set boundaries in a firm but thoughtful manner
- Provide a positive environment fostering independence and good judgment
- Communicate with parents and other staff throughout the day and work collaboratively
- Travel prep/pack
