Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on construction accounting, including job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience using Sage Timberline and a strong understanding of construction-specific accounting processes.
Requirements:
- Experience with in construction, preferably residential
- Experience with a large ERP system
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, job cost ledgers, and project accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain and monitor project budgets and job costs in Timberline.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for management.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to review project financials and forecasts.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in residential construction.
- Proficient in Sage Timberline
- Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and construction finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
