Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Fairfax, VA (hybrid flexibility once trained)
Assignment Type: Temp-to-permanent role
Compensation: $27-28/hr - conversion salary of $50-60K

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and sub-ledgers
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Provide accounting support for special projects or ad-hoc analysis
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
