SA119 - Housekeeper/Cook - Greenwich, CT

Overview

A warm and welcoming family in Greenwich, CT is seeking a dynamic, nurturing, experienced, and skilled live-out housekeeper/cook to assist with the daily care and upkeep of their primary residence, as well as their seasonal home in New Fairfield, CT. The schedule is 4 days/week in Greenwich, CT, 1 day/week in New Fairfield, CT (during the Summer). During the rest of the year, time in New Fairfield may be reduced or adjusted to meet seasonal needs. The schedule is Monday – Friday, open to hours which work for candidate.  This is a long-term position for someone who is looking to grow with a kind, informal, and respectful family. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and takes great pride in maintaining a clean, well-run home. The family values warmth, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• All aspects of general housekeeping and cleaning of residence, including but not limited to, floor cleaning including moldings, vacuuming, dusting, laundry and ironing/steaming. Should have experience with the care and cleaning of fine surfaces such as delicate wood flooring, marble, china, etc.
• Organization of the residence; including closets, pantries, drawers, etc.
• Child care duties will consist of helping get the children up and ready for school.
• Meal planning alongside with mother and preparation and cooking meals for the family.

Qualifications

• Passionate about keeping a house clean and be able to clean all areas of the house relying on a set schedule.
• Skilled organizer, be willing to learn and maintain the organization throughout the house.
• Love to cook and be able to cook healthy meals using recipes provided by the employer.
• Love children, be active, attentive, patient, and caring with them.
• Extremely punctual and reliable to not miss work and be reachable via phone during work hours.
• Hardworking, motivated and responsible.
• Well organized and be able to plan daily work around child care, cleaning and cooking responsibilities.
• Happy to become a part of the family and do everything whole heartedly and work well with the mom and nanny.
• Willing to go the extra step in order to get the job well done as well as pitch in anywhere needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years minimum experience in housekeeping, cooking, and childcare.
• Demonstrated track record of longevity with their former family-employers with excellent reference and clean background checks.  
• Legal to work in the US.
• Driver’s License and own transportation to get to work as the residence is not located within walking distance of public transportation.
• Command of the English language.
• Non-smoker
• High school education or equivalent
