Job Summary
Dr. Jiannan Li Lab at the University of Texas at Dallas, Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in biomaterials, bioprinting and tissue engineering. Our research focuses on developing advanced bioprinting technologies for various biomedical applications, including orthopaedics and cancer-related studies.
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, material sciences, chemistry, mechanical engineering or related fields
  • Experience in biomaterials design (particularly bioink materials), development and characterization
  • Experience in cell culture (stem cells, endothelial cells, cancer cells) and biological assays (protein, gene expression, histology, immunofluorescence, etc.)
  • Experience in engineering platform development including bioprinters or microfluidic systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven track record of publishing scientific papers and delivering presentations
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Intended work may involve: (1) Designing and synthesizing novel biomaterials for bioprinting and tissue engineering. (2) Performing bioprinting, material characterization, cell culture, and biological assays. (3) Developing bioprinting methodologies and engineering platforms. (4) Writing and graduate student mentoring.
