Position Overview
We are currently accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year.
Roles and Responsibilities
The full-time faculty position responsibilities include:
- Teach 2 sections of physics courses per semester (Conceptual Physics for 9th and SAS Physics for 11th/12th)
- Teach one section of an elective for one semester (Examples: Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics of Music)
- Act as an Advisor to a group of 10-12 students
- Facilitate a group in the Social Innovation Program (SIP) during the weekly SIP block
- Supervise Talking Leaves presentations twice a year
- Act as a chaperone and driver for a camping trip once per year (with optional second trip)
- Mentor a student club or Stewardship committee
- Attend Morning Meetings daily
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and must have experience teaching physics, engineering, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s or PhD preferred.
Successful candidates will also have the following qualifications:

- Demonstrated leadership experience in a K-12 school setting
- Demonstrated interest in inquiry-based, experiential, and deeper learning and competency-based assessment
- Interest in participating in field studies/camping trips

- Demonstrated sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of high school students
