The Department of Mathematical Sciences in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor in Mathematical Sciences to start July 2025 with an initial appointment for a period of three academic years and the possibility of annual renewal, subject to program needs, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance of duties. The candidate must provide three years or more of evaluations as instructor of record demonstrating high quality teaching effectiveness to qualify for a three-year multi-year, merit-based appointment with the potential for reappointment. This is a standard twelve-month faculty appointment. With approval from the Dean of the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the qualified candidate could be appointed to the Julia A. Hicks Endowed Professorship in Mathematics. These endowed funds may be used to support curricular and instructional development within mathematical sciences.

We seek a candidate with a strong and developing national reputation, achieved through a compelling research record; one who demonstrates curiosity in emerging technologies and novel approaches to traditional methods. This non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position entails conducting research leading to publication, engaging in creative and/or scholarly activities, designing courses at the University level, developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in the field, providing curriculum material, constructing syllabi, leading classroom instruction, writing and administering exams, mentoring and evaluating students, creating interest and understanding among students, serving on various faculty- and student-oriented committees, providing service on campus an in related professional organizations, and participating in faculty governance in the department and on campus.
