The Department of Mathematics of Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tennessee invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor scheduled to start in January 2026. The minimum requirement is a terminal degree in mathematics, or mathematics education. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to teach a wide variety of courses, both lower and upper division in the undergraduate degree in mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with engineering background.
In addition to the teaching duties described above, this position will require the successful candidate to serve on college committees; assess/evaluate instruction, courses, and programs; participate in community service, departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and student recruitment and retention activities. In addition to these duties the position will serve as the advisor to a pre-engineering dual degree program partnered with University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Tennessee Tech University. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to collegiality throughout their tenure at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
