SK211 - Housekeeper - Greenwich Village

Overview

A warm and engaging family of five, based in Greenwich Village, is seeking a child-friendly housekeeper to provide additional support within their home. This position is primarily focused on maintaining the household, though it will include occasional childcare responsibilities. The family has three young children, ages 5, 3, and 1, and employs a full-time nanny. Both parents are very involved in their children's daily lives and routines. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, and comfortable in a dynamic family environment. While the primary focus will be on housekeeping (the family has someone who deep cleans) there may be times when assistance with the children is needed, either in partnership with the nanny or independently. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with the flexibility to work additional hours as needed. This is a live-out position while the family is in Greenwich Village. However, from the end of June through Labor Day, the family resides at their second home in Sag Harbor, and the position becomes live-in during that time. The accommodation consists of own bed and bath. This is a wonderful opportunity for a caring and organized individual who enjoys working in a collaborative, family-centered environment and can balance housekeeping responsibilities with occasional childcare support. Responsibilities

• All aspects of general housekeeping, including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing of bathrooms and kitchen, laundry, and dishes
• Wiping down surfaces
• Changing linens and making beds
• Tidying up throughout the day
• Meal prep and cook for the children
• Pack children’s lunches
• Pitch in where needed
• General household organization
• Grocery shopping
• Errand running
• Pick up children from school or activities
• Work collaboratively with family and nanny to streamline the household and care for the children

• Experience with food allergies is a plus

Requirements

• 5+ years in a similar role with longevity
• Must be able to live in when the family is in Sag Harbor
• CPR certification, driver’s license and the ability to swim are not required, but would be a plus
• Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

• The family is offering $40 per hour, a metro card, and negotiable PTO
