💰 Rate/Salary: £31.74 per hour (Umbrella)
About the Role:
We’re currently recruiting for an exciting locum opportunity within a North East Local Authority in Tyne and Wear. We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Our Care Team, supporting children and young people to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take the lead on complex Child in Need (CiN), Looked After Children, and Child Protection cases
• Develop and maintain evidence-based care and pathway plans that prioritise the best interests of each child
• Ensure timely reviews and active engagement with children, families, and professionals
• Promote children’s safety, education, health, and wellbeing through effective planning and intervention
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams including schools, health services, and family hubs
• Maintain accurate and timely case records that clearly reflect the child’s journey and voice
• Participate in supervision, continuous professional development, and service improvement initiatives
Requirements:
• Recognised Social Work Qualification (SW Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS)
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced DBS clearance
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in a Local Authority setting (as per DfE guidance)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and multi-agency working practices
