Position: Senior Social Worker
Team: Children in Care & Care Leavers
Contract: Locum, 3 Months +
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour + mileage
Location: The Grange Centre, DE14 2ER (Free parking available)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working – 2 days in the office per week

Sheldon Phillips are working with Staffordshire County Council to recruit a Senior Social Worker for their Children in Care and Care Leavers Team in Burton Upon Trent. This is a great opportunity to join a stable, supportive team that places relationship-based practice and long-term outcomes for young people at the heart of their work.


What You Can Expect:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children in care and care leavers, ensuring care plans reflect their needs and aspirations

  • Undertake visits, reviews and assessments to support permanence and independence planning

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, and partner agencies

  • Prepare and present reports for statutory reviews and court where required

  • Ensure all work is recorded accurately and in line with statutory and local policies


Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent

  • Post-qualified experience within Children in Care / Leaving Care

  • Strong safeguarding, assessment, and care planning skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

  • Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle
