Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN School Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in Teignbridge. Working within our special school, which caters to students aged 3 to 19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, communication and interaction difficulties, and related learning needs, you will play a vital role in supporting our learners to achieve their full potential. The position is suitable for individuals committed to fostering a respectful, caring, and empowering environment consistent with our school's ethos. The role is available immediately and is expected to continue on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities • Support individual pupils with SEN, including those with autism and communication difficulties, both in classroom settings and during specialised activities, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met in line with our inclusive approach. • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning programmes, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement strategies that promote engagement and progress. • Provide 1:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities. • Supervise and support pupils during break times, mealtimes, and residential activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. • Support the implementation of behaviour management plans, promoting positive behaviour strategies that respect the dignity of each pupil. • Contribute to the organisation of outdoor education, forest school sessions, and other specialised programmes that utilise our extensive grounds and facilities. • Assist with the preparation of learning environments and resources tailored to the needs of individual pupils, ensuring a stimulating and accessible environment. • Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, aligning with the school's values of kindness, respect, and individualised support for all learners. • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in special educational needs and inclusion.
