Job Description:

Role Purpose

We seek a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to supervise and ensure the highest quality standards on all project activities at Innovo. The ideal candidate will monitor project specifications, manage inspection processes, and maintain rigorous quality control across all aspects of the construction process. This role demands a thorough knowledge of quality assurance procedures, strong organisational skills, and a firm commitment to safety and compliance standards. The Quality Engineer will be crucial in coordinating with internal operations teams and external consultants to uphold and enhance quality measures, ensuring that every project delivers outstanding results aligned with Innovo’s quality objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Site Supervision: Collaborate with the operations team to execute work at the site as per project specifications, drawings, and method statements.
  • Inspections and Compliance: Conduct and follow up on site inspection requests with consultants to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Testing and Reports Verification: Verify that all test reports are in alignment with contract requirements and maintain detailed records of these verifications.
  • Material Inspection: Ensure that all materials delivered to the site are inspected and conform to specified requirements, maintaining comprehensive records of these inspections.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary, administer follow-ups, and manage the closing out of NCRs and site observations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of all outstanding balanced works and the snagging list.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit daily quality reports detailing site activities and compliance.
  • Team Training: Assist the Senior Quality Engineer in the training of the site operations team to ensure they are proficient in quality standards and procedures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures and report any HSE incidents or violations in a timely manner.

Legal Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all legal requirements related to construction and quality assurance.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in quality assurance, quality control, or related fields are preferred to enhance the candidate’s understanding of industry standards.
  • Professional Certifications: Highly beneficial are certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or other relevant certifications from recognized quality organizations (e.g., ASQ—American Society for Quality).
  • Experience:
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality control and assurance within the construction industry, specifically with exposure to large-scale construction projects.
