Role
As a MRICS Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in working across a wide variety of large, exciting construction projects across both public and private sectors. Due to continued growth and business development, our client is actively recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in their Sheffield office.
This Quantity Surveying position offers exposure to all aspects of cost management and commercial management within a supportive construction consultancy environment, with opportunities to work on prestigious construction projects throughout Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
As a MRICS Quantity Surveyor with a Sheffield-based Construction Consultancy, you will be required to deliver and demonstrate a variety of quantity surveying responsibilities across an array of Construction Projects. As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Cost planning and cost estimation for construction projects across Sheffield and Yorkshire
Cost management and budget management throughout project lifecycles
Value engineering assessments to optimise construction costs
Tender management and tender evaluation for construction contracts
Financial reporting and cost reporting for clients and stakeholders
Budget management and cost control on active construction projects
Employers’ agent duties and contract administration
Valuations and interim valuations for construction work
Commercial management of construction contracts and procurement processes
Risk management and cost risk assessments for construction projects
Person
Employed by an award-winning, nationally leading Construction Consultancy based in Sheffield, the ideal MRICS Quantity Surveyor must be able to portray the following:
Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of cost management services and quantity surveying experience
MRICS chartered or close to completing RICS chartership
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
Experience with cost planning, tender management and value engineering
Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and construction teams
Knowledge of construction industry standards and procurement processes
Desire and motivation to succeed in a quantity surveying career in Sheffield
Understanding of commercial management and contract administration
