We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a critical role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial risks. The ideal candidate will be skilled in cost estimation, contract preparation, and financial analysis, contributing to the successful delivery of construction and real estate projects. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and contractors to ensure cost-effective and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates based on project blueprints, specifications, and design documents.
- Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular cost analyses and forecasts to track and report on project expenditures.
- Collaborate with project managers to address and control any cost discrepancies.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities for vendors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate and assess tenders to support the selection of cost-effective and compliant contractors.
- Prepare and evaluate valuations, progress payments, and final account statements for contractors and subcontractors.
- Review and verify invoices, progress claims, and variations, ensuring they meet agreed terms.
- Identify potential cost-related project risks and suggest effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage changes in project scope, preparing cost impact analyses and reporting updates to the project team.
- Provide regular financial reports, including budget variances, project expenditures, and forecasts for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, contracts, and project documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within construction or real estate projects.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of construction costs, contract law, and project management principles.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving abilities.
