Overview
A wonderful family on the Upper East Side is seeking a full-time live-out career nanny for their infant who was born in July. The position will begin as soon as the right candidate is found, there is some flexibility to start later this fall if preferred. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, most likely 9am-5pm but the family is happy to work with the nanny to find an ideal schedule for all. If the nanny would like additional hours, the family would welcome occasional date night babysitting (with notice).
As new parents, they're looking forward to finding someone who can educate them on baby sleep, feeding, routines, and milestones. The family is looking for a nanny who will hopefully stay with them for years and become part of their family. Their ideal nanny will bring a calmness to the home and be extremely knowledgeable about child development, collaborating with parents as their daughter grows.
Responsibilities
- Full childcare including providing a warm and loving environment for baby and coordinating schedules for naps, meals, and activities
- Eventually taking baby to activities, play dates, and outings as she grows
- Baby dishes including washing and sanitizing bottles and helping with child-related meal preparation once solids are introduced
- Managing the tidiness and organization of the child's spaces and belongings including restocking diapers and wipes, switching out clothes as needed, etc.
- Child-related laundry
Qualifications
- Warm and nurturing personality
- Knowledgeable and supportive personality, able to kindly guide new parents and be a true partner with them in raising their daughter
- Trustworthy, good common sense, and safety conscious
- The parents are active and involved, with mom working from home part-time when she goes back to work so someone who can navigate this would be appreciated
- Pitch-in attitude and a proactive and positive personality
- Excited to work with infant and toddler age, know ages and stages and what developmental milestones are coming next
- Nice to have: Driver’s license for driving during travel (for example, when visiting the grandparents in California)
Requirements
- Open and interested in traveling with the family; travel will be minimal but will include a trip to California this winter and some weekend trips to Massachusetts throughout the year
- 5+ years infant and toddler experience in a private home as a nanny
- Commuting distance from UES
- Professional/career nanny who knows how to maintain boundaries and able to navigate work from home parents
- Tech savvy (baby connect, calendar, etc.) and strong communication skills
- Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certifications (or be willing to update them ASAP)
- Legal to work in the US
- No cat allergies as there are two cats in the home
Salary and Benefits
$35-45 per hour plus standard benefits and health insurance reimbursement/stipend
