Investment Operations Analyst

Location : Wellington / Auckland

Description

This role plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of investor activities, oversight of fund operations, and continuous improvement of operational processes. This role supports the integrity of FundRock’s investment operations and contributes to the delivery of high-quality service to clients and stakeholders.

Job specification

  • Perform the daily cash flow management process across various clients.

  • Conduct cash and position reconciliations between custodians, fund administrators, and internal systems

  • Perform SIPO and unit pricing validation reviews

  • Liaise with external parties including custodians, investment managers, and administrators to resolve operational issues

  • Contribute to the monthly fees and expenses process, including preparing and approving workbooks, creating invoices, and instructing and approving payment schedules

  • Support onboarding of new funds and clients, including system setup and documentation

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements

  • Assist with client onboarding including AML

  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives

  • Prepare operational reports and assist with audit and compliance reviews

  • Responsible for the monitoring of Operations mailboxes

  • Assist with managing client queries and investor interactions

  • Contribute to the documentation of operational policies and procedures

  • Review and approve investment trades, FX Hedge rolls

  • Carry out procedures in accordance with the control environment

  • Administer loans, including liaising with multiple parties regarding loan agreements, loan variations, loan drawdowns and direct credit

  • Perform other tasks as required

Skills Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, middle office or similar roles

  • Understanding of financial instruments and trade lifecycle

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Ability to solve problems

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast -paced environment

  • Moderate understanding and keen interest in New Zealand’s financial services environment

  • Intermediate to advanced spreadsheeting and wider data management technical capabilities
