About the Role:


OLarry is redefining how high-net-worth individuals and business owners engage with their tax advisors—offering a subscription-based, always-on relationship that replaces the outdated “tax season scramble.” As our Business Development Lead, you’ll be on the front lines of growth, responsible for both managing inbound marketing-generated leads and proactively hunting new clients through outbound efforts and referral partnerships.


You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Marketing team to qualify and convert leads generated from content, paid media, and partnerships. At the same time, you’ll build your own pipeline by identifying high-value prospects, nurturing relationships, and driving direct outreach to business owners and HNW individuals. Your success will be measured by closed new business, pipeline velocity, and how effectively you turn initial interest into long-term subscription clients.


This is a highly visible role with a direct path to leadership as OLarry scales nationally.


Responsibilities:


  • Own the lead funnel — Manage, qualify, and convert inbound leads generated by Marketing, ensuring smooth handoffs, quick response times, and high conversion rates to subscription clients.


  • Hunt for organic growth — Proactively identify and engage high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and strategic partners through cold outreach, networking, and referrals to build a strong outbound pipeline.


  • Drive the sales process — Lead discovery calls, craft tailored proposals, and work closely with our Tax Directors to design engagements that align with client needs and our subscription model.


  • Collaborate with Marketing — Provide real-time feedback on lead quality, messaging, and campaign performance to optimize our marketing strategies and ensure alignment with business development efforts.


  • Develop partnerships — Build and nurture relationships with RIAs, family offices, and professional services firms that can act as referral partners for OLarry.


  • Maintain pipeline hygiene — Keep CRM records accurate and up-to-date, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into pipeline health, deal velocity, and forecast accuracy.


  • Be a voice of the market — Share insights from prospect conversations with our Product, Marketing, and Leadership teams to inform go-to-market strategy, messaging, and service offerings.


  • Meet and exceed targets — Consistently hit quota for new client acquisition, subscription conversions, and pipeline KPIs.


Skills and Experience:


  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or client acquisition experience, ideally within professional services (accounting, legal, financial advisory) or fintech.


  • Proven track record of managing and converting inbound marketing leads, with a strong understanding of lead qualification and sales funnel dynamics.


  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and building pipelines through organic channels (cold outreach, referrals, partnerships).


  • High financial acumen; you’re comfortable discussing entity structures, tax strategy concepts, and ROI in plain English.


  • Exceptional communication and consultative selling skills; you know how to build trust with discerning HNW individuals and business owners.


  • Organized and process-driven—you can manage multiple leads and deals while keeping CRM hygiene immaculate.


  • Self-starter with a hunter mentality, but also collaborative with marketing, tax, and leadership teams to drive growth.


  • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment where ambiguity and agility are the norm.


  • Experience working with CRMs (HubSpot) and outbound automation tools
