About the job
We are looking for a creative, dynamic and highly motivated English specialist. The role will involve teaching English across Key Stage 3 and 4.
We are looking for a person with initiative and drive, to support the Head of Department and take on leadership responsibility.
Principal Responsibilities:
- To support curriculum development.
- To raise levels of student achievement.
- To monitor, evaluate, track and review student progress.
- To monitor and encourage the use of ICT to enhance learning.
- To develop promotion of English across the school.
An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
