The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in Mercer Universityâs College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position to start August 1, 2025. We seek to hire a colleague who can strengthen our course offerings in Applied Mathematics.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate-level mathematics courses, engaging in scholarship, creating and supervising academic opportunities for students beyond the classroom, and contributing to the department and College through service.
We welcome candidates who demonstrate the potential for excellent undergraduate teaching; the capacity for ongoing peer-reviewed scholarship; a desire to be an active citizen in the department and College; a commitment to or interest in the liberal arts; a desire to engage students outside the classroom in activities such as undergraduate research, service projects, or internships; and readiness to develop and/or implement pedagogies that promote the learning of students of all backgrounds (racial, ethnic, socio-economic, abled/disabled, etc.)
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor until a Ph.D. is obtained.
