About the job
We produces 1/4 inch alfalfa pellets and alfalfa meal that is sold in bulk form. We currently grow close to 4,000 acres of alfalfa. We typically try to get 4-6 cuttings per field. We also do a lot of hay grinding at our facility. We use 7-8 Field Queen Choppers to harvest the alfalfa and 4-5 tandem axle farm trucks to haul the chopped alfalfa to our Dehy Plant. Employees will operate and do the daily inspections on the cutter in a safe working manner, as well as haul chopped hay from the field to our processing plant. Employees will assist with all aspects of growing/harvesting this crop, and complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial truck driving is required.
