North Central College invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach teacher preparatory courses within the Department of Education (Undergraduate/Graduate Teacher Prep: Elementary, Secondary, or K-12). Adjunct faculty appointments are made on a course-by-course basis. If your academic background and expertise align with departmental needs, you may be contacted to discuss available assignments. This is a non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure eligibility. The number of courses assigned will depend on departmental needs and sufficient course enrollment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

- Working with prior syllabi and master course outlines, plan a comprehensive course meeting course objectives and standards.
- Establish relationships with students, cultivating a classroom culture of character conducive to growth and development.
- Support the department and College's mission, vision and values, and contribute to the advancement of program goals.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and prospective students to the program or College.
- Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work environment and engage in educational opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Excellent communication skills (persuasive and negotiation skills, strong writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations skills).
- Ability to represent North Central College in a professional manner, recruit and work within a diverse community.
- Ability to self-initiate and execute with minimal supervision.
- High level leadership, organizational, time management and planning skills.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :
- Education/Training: A Master's degree (doctorate preferred)
- Experience: K-12 teaching experience
- License/Certification: Teacher licensure
