We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to build high-quality Android applications from scratch and maintain a growing portfolio of mobile apps across utility, productivity, entertainment, and other categories. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Chisinau, Moldova.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Android experience, excellent Kotlin skills, a deep understanding of Jetpack Compose, and the ability to turn UI/UX designs into polished, responsive, performant applications. You should be proactive, reliable, and comfortable working with modern Android architecture and tooling.
Key responsibilities
- Create Android Kotlin applications from scratch (0 → 1) for various purposes, including utility, productivity, entertainment, and other app categories.
- Translate UI/UX designs into beautiful, responsive, intuitive, and high-performing Android interfaces.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and keep technical documentation up to date.
- Maintain and improve the existing app portfolio by fixing bugs, edge cases, and performance issues.
- Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, reliability, and battery efficiency.
- Stay current with the latest Android development tools, frameworks, design solutions, and industry trends.
- Explore and integrate modern Android technologies where they can improve product quality and development efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of Android development experience, with at least one app published on the Google Play Store.
- Strong hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Deep understanding of Kotlin, Coroutines, and Flow.
- Solid knowledge of Android architecture and design patterns such as MVVM and MVI.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and dependency injection tools such as Hilt/Dagger or Koin.
- Practical experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform (CMP) is optional but considered a significant advantage.
- Skilled in writing efficient code, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing app performance and battery usage.
- Familiarity with Gradle, Version Catalogs, and modular project structures.
- Strong Git skills and experience working in collaborative development workflows.
- Able to read technical documentation in English and communicate effectively at B1+ level or higher.
- Reliable, honest, proactive, and a strong team player.
