POSITION: Test Engineer
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL.
STATUS: Hourly-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Test Engineer position to support the development and testing of industrial gas turbine combustion system components. Candidate will be a member of the Flow Testing and Instrumentation Lab and will work closely with combustion engineers to develop and carry out testing procedures.
Essential duties & responsibilities
The essential functions of the job include the following:
- Perform air flow tests on Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) components
- Support following hardware in the shop and at vendors facilities
- Develop procedures for flow testing of industrial gas turbine components
- Assist in fixture design for flow testing
- Maintain flow testing equipment to ensure validity of test results
- Set up data acquisition systems to collect test data
- Create Technical Documentation: O&M manuals, installation instructions, WI
- ECNs processing and drawing incorporation using TeamCenter
- Rig testing / commissioning support
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Higher level education in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field preferred
- Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience
- General mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on work
- Understanding of basic fluid dynamics
- Understanding of air flow measurement systems and techniques
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a professional, friendly, team environment
- Reliable and able to commit a schedule
- Field work and travel may be required (up to 30%)
