Description: The University of Notre Dame seeks a dynamic and accomplished voice teacher specializing in Musical Theatre (MT) and Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) for the position of Teaching Professor (open rank - Assistant, Associate, or Full) in the Department of Music, beginning July 2026.
The ideal candidate will be a highly accomplished pedagogue with extensive experience teaching MT and CCM vocal technique and repertoire at the college level, demonstrated through innovative teaching and a strong record of student success. The Department is especially interested in candidates with knowledge of current voice science and pedagogical practice and a commitment to integrating diverse vocal traditions.
The successful candidate will teach voice lessons in the Department of Music and the Musical Theatre Minor of the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre. Additionally, they may teach elective courses in voice pedagogy, vocal literature, and/or Musical Theatre and assist as a vocal coach for Musical Theatre productions. This position offers opportunities for collaboration with faculty across departments in state-of-the-art facilities.
A DMA or equivalent terminal degree is preferred, however candidates with an appropriate advanced degree and distinguished professional experience will also be considered.
