Kemp Quarries is a leading producer of construction aggregates, consisting primarily of crushed stone, sand and gravel. We have 17 locations in three states with our headquarters located near Pryor, OK.
About the Position
The Accounting Clerk supports the Finance, Payroll and HR Department activities and efficiency within the workplace by assisting with accounting duties. Competitive candidates will be required to demonstrate a past, strong work ethic with a self-motivational work style.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support CFO, Controller and HR department activities within the workplace.
- Analyze and create financial reports for supervisors and managers.
- Monitor reports for discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- File Sales Tax Reports for Multiple States.
- Assist the Controller with financial reports by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data as needed.
- Support HR department in human resource related activities within the workplace.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Proficient with Financial Software, Developing Standards, Accounting, Corporate Finance.
- Bookkeeping experience required.
- Payroll experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Time management skills.
- Organization skills.
- Multitasking skills.
- Accounting Degree preferred or equivalent Accounting experience.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Willingness to do other work as needed.
