SENIOR SOLUTIONS ENGINEER (3RD LINE) - HYBRID – LONDON
I'm working with a fast-paced MSP based in London who support 100+ clients and over 5,000 users. They're known for their exceptional service quality and strong team culture, and they're now looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team as a technical leader.
The Role:
You'll be leading 3rd line support, taking ownership of complex infrastructure projects, and acting as the go-to technical expert for the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer from an MSP or fast-paced IT background who's ready to mentor others, drive strategic solutions, and work directly with clients on high-level technical challenges.

- Hybrid working, 4 days on site and WFH on Fridays!

What you'll be doing:
- Lead expert-level 3rd line support across servers, virtualisation, networking, cloud, and security
- Take full ownership of infrastructure projects from start to finish (migrations, cloud deployments, network upgrades)
- Be the primary escalation point for the engineering team on complex technical issues
- Work directly with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored IT solutions
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and careers
- Design and implement security solutions including firewalls, endpoint protection, and cloud security
- Manage client expectations and guide them through technical implementations
- Create comprehensive documentation and provide clients with performance insights and recommendations
What you'll need:
- Extensive experience in IT infrastructure, ideally from an MSP background or fast-paced multi-client environment
- Expert-level Windows Server skills (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, WDS) with advanced troubleshooting ability
- Strong virtualisation experience (Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud expertise, particularly Microsoft Azure
- In-depth knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam, Cove, Acronis) and disaster recovery planning
- Advanced networking skills including VLANs, subnetting, TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewall management (Fortinet, Juniper, Watchguard, Palo Alto)
- Experience with storage platforms such as Dell PowerVault and Synology
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships
- Natural leadership qualities and passion for mentoring others
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of endpoint protection solutions (Microsoft Defender, Sophos)
- Experience working with large datasets across multiple environments
- Background in security and compliance standards
- Azure certifications or other relevant qualifications
