About the job

A well-established insurance company is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to join its growing data team. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful data challenges, helping to build and scale data platforms that support critical business insights and drive smarter decision-making across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing robust data pipelines, optimising data workflows, and collaborating with analytics, engineering, and business teams to unlock the full value of the company's data assets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
  • Develop and optimise data models to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to deliver reliable data solutions
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the platform
  • Contribute to the modernisation of the data infrastructure, supporting the transition to cloud-based environments


About you:

  • Strong skills in SQL, Python, and data engineering frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow)
  • Experience designing and implementing data pipelines in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and best practices for data warehousing
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance standards
  • Bonus: experience in the insurance or financial services sector
