  • Meet with school/district leaders and cross-functional teams (with varying levels of technical knowledge) to gather and interpret data requirements, develop applications within the Abre platform, and support district data projects and goals
  • Provide training and guidance to non-technical customers on the appropriate use and interpretation of data dashboards and visualizations
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from databases, including cleaning and processing data to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Develop and maintain data models and databases to support robust data analysis
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
  • Understand and deploy complex calculations related to education data; explain and validate these calculations to various stakeholders
  • Identify and investigate data quality issues; recommend and implement solutions
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation and data dictionaries
  • Be onsite with Houston-area customers as needed and travel within Texas 2–6 times per month for customer meetings

Required Skills

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in roles focused on designing and implementing complex visualizations for non-technical audiences
    • First-hand experience working directly with K–12 educational data
    • Direct experience working with school districts in Texas
  • Strong problem-solving abilities: Able to identify and resolve data issues efficiently
  • Business acumen: Understand business operations and translate requirements into effective data solutions
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for presenting analysis to non-technical stakeholders
  • Attention to detail: High standards for data accuracy and integrity
  • Analytical skills: Able to analyze and apply complex calculations to derive actionable insights
  • Expertise in SQL: Strong command of writing efficient and complex queries
  • Data visualization skills: Proficient with tools like Mode, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Data modeling and databases: Understanding of relational database structures and data modeling concepts
  • Data cleaning and preprocessing: Experience handling missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies
  • Time management and organization: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Continuous learning mindset: Commitment to staying updated with current trends, tools, and techniques
  • Willingness to travel: Comfortable traveling within Texas up to 2–6 times per month

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning concepts, particularly in preparing foundational data for R&D initiatives
  • Programming experience in Python or R for data analysis and manipulation
  • Exposure to structured programming practices and applying them in data-driven environments

Benefits at Abre

  • Generous PTO and holidays, including company-wide breaks
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision
