Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:
- Overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Performing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth
- Supporting external audits and ensuring timely resolution of audit inquiries
- Monitoring and interpreting changes in accounting regulations, and implementing necessary adjustments
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of financial reporting systems and tools
- Participating in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant include:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA qualification
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role
- Public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
