Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Financial Reporting: Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Technical Accounting: Research and apply relevant accounting guidance, ensuring accurate treatment of complex transactions.
- Month-End Close: Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis to support a timely and accurate close process.
- Internal Controls: Support the development and monitoring of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Audit & Compliance: Collaborate with external auditors and assist with documentation for quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting workflows and reporting accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or a public/private mix, with exposure to SEC reporting or corporate accounting functions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems preferred.
