Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Reports To: Accounting Manager
Status: Exempt
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Primary point of contact for Nashville Predators Accounts Receivable:
- Assist with preparation and approval of invoices.
- Prepare weekly AR report.
- Prepare monthly customer statements.
- Serve as point of contact for all invoicing questions from internal and external customers
- Follow up with customers on aged and past due receivables
- Apply payments to invoices in the accounting system
- Manage bank deposits (checks, ACH, credit card)
- Assist accounting Manager with reporting related to Premium and Sponsorship Revenue
- Monthly Bank reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement analysis
- Investigate and resolve variances related to multiple revenue streams
- Work with trade partners to manage and track trade usage.
- Facilitate trade usage internally and communicate with managers regarding available balances.
- Ensure all trades are used per contract.
- Reconcile related balance sheet accounts.
- Perform journal entries and reporting including but not limited to; other revenue and receivables, billbacks and allocations, box office chargebacks, sales tax, management fees and league receivables.
- Manage financial components of the Predators Foundation including, but not limited to:
- Daily deposits, accounts receivable and payable functions
- monthly journal entries for all streams of revenue
- complete monthly bank reconciliations
- reporting on various functions of the foundations fundraising events
- financial statement completeness reviews
- Assist with annual audit for Nashville Predators and the Predators Foundation
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in all departments to effectively identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
- Manage, review processes and recommend/implement changes for current document management system.
- Provide continuous, superior customer service and exceed internal and external customer expectations with service, communication, and urgency. Likewise, provide creative suggestions and proactive solutions to internal and external customer issues.
- Communicate with supervisors and manage workload and anticipated timeline for completion of tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager, Controller, and other management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in accounting or related field required.
- Must have 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with Intacct accounting package preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact at all levels across the organization.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Ability to exercise extreme confidentiality and discretion on a daily basis.

- Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Powers Management’s insurance carrier.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must have finger dexterity to perform Accountant duties.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and move boxes of office equipment, accounting files, etc. weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
