Job Summary:
An experienced and dedicated SAP PS Senior Consultant to join Dangote SAP Delivery Center in India. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our SAP Project Systems (PS) solutions, from detailed design and configuration to implementation, testing, and ongoing support. You will serve as a key subject matter expert, working closely with project managers, operations, finance, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex project management requirements into robust SAP PS functionalities, optimize project planning, execution, monitoring, and financial control, and enhance overall project profitability.
The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise in SAP PS, a proven track record of successful project participation (including S/4HANA transitions), and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities

• Business Requirements Analysis & Solution Design:

• Collaborate extensively with project managers, controlling, finance, procurement, and sales teams to understand, analyze, and document complex business requirements related to project planning, budgeting, execution, progress tracking, and settlement.
• Translate detailed business needs into comprehensive functional specifications and design robust, scalable SAP PS solutions that align with industry best practices and internal project management methodologies.
• Lead or facilitate workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to validate requirements, propose solutions, and gain consensus.
• SAP PS Configuration & Customization:

• Perform hands-on configuration and customization across a wide range of SAP PS functionalities, including:

• Project Structures: Project Definitions, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) elements, Networks, Activities, Milestones.
• Project Planning: Cost Planning (Easy Cost Planning, Unit Costing), Revenue Planning, Resources Planning, Scheduling (network scheduling, WBS scheduling).
• Project Budgeting: Budget profiles, original budget, budget supplements, returns, transfers, availability control.
• Project Execution: Actual cost postings, confirmations, progress analysis (Planned Independent Requirements for PS), results analysis keys and methods.
• Period-End Closing: Project settlement (to AUC, assets, CO-PA, cost centers, WBS elements), project closing.
• Reporting: Standard PS reports, custom reports.
• Project Profile and Network Profile Configuration.
• Ensure all configurations meet functional specifications, adhere to project management principles, and integrate seamlessly within the SAP ecosystem.
• Project Implementation & Delivery:

• Actively lead or participate in all phases of the SAP PS project lifecycle (e.g., Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run), taking ownership of assigned deliverables related to project systems.
• Prepare detailed functional specifications for custom developments (RICEF objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) and collaborate closely with ABAP developers, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
• Oversee and support data migration activities for PS master data (e.g., WBS elements, networks, project versions).
• Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Develop comprehensive test cases and scripts for SAP PS functionalities.
• Lead and execute unit testing, support system integration testing (SIT), and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of project solutions.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, defects, and discrepancies encountered during testing phases and post-go-live.
• Training & Documentation:

• Develop high-quality training materials and conduct expert-level training sessions for project managers, controllers, and project team members on SAP PS functionalities and reporting.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, functional specifications, configuration guides, and user manuals.
• Integration & Cross-Module Collaboration:

• Possess a strong and in-depth understanding of integration points between SAP PS and other core SAP modules (SAP FI/CO - Financial Accounting & Controlling, SAP MM - Materials Management for project procurement, SAP SD - Sales & Distribution for customer projects, SAP PP - Production Planning for project-related production, SAP HR - Human Resources for project staffing, SAP PM - Plant Maintenance for investment projects).
• Collaborate effectively with other SAP functional and technical consultants to ensure seamless end-to-end business processes.
• Ongoing Support & Optimization:

• Provide expert Level 2/3 support for SAP PS, troubleshooting complex project-related system issues, and implementing timely corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing existing processes and system usage, identifying opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhanced reporting within SAP PS (e.g., improved progress tracking, better analytical reporting for project profitability).
• Manage and prioritize complex change requests and incidents within your area of expertise, driving them to resolution.
• Mentorship & Thought Leadership:

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior PS consultants and internal support teams, fostering their professional growth.
• Stay abreast of the latest SAP developments within SAP S/4HANA Project Systems/Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) and relevant industry trends in project management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP/Prince2 certification is a plus.
• Experience:

• Minimum of 8+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as an SAP PS Consultant.
• Proven experience participating in at least 2-3 full lifecycle SAP PS implementation projects or significant enhancement/rollout projects.
• Deep expertise in various aspects of project management, including project planning, budgeting, execution, and settlement within SAP.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (including functionalities like Project Financials, Project Logistics) is a strong advantage. Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 PS is essential.

• Technical Proficiency:

• Expert-level knowledge of SAP PS module configurations, master data, and business processes.
• Strong understanding of integration points with FI/CO (especially results analysis and settlement), MM, SD, and PP.
• Ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive functional specifications for complex custom developments (RICEF objects).
• Proficiency in ABAP debugging is highly desirable.
• Experience with project reporting tools within SAP (standard PS reports, SAP BW, SAC).

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP PS Certification (SAP Certified Application Associate - Project Systems with SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA Project Systems).
• Experience in a specific industry vertical relevant to our business.
• Knowledge of SAP PPM (Portfolio and Project Management) or SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM).
• Experience with resource related billing or complex revenue recognition for projects.
