QA Engineer

Speedchain is seeking a Senior Lead QA Engineer to lead and mentor a team of Quality Assurance (QA) engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive test plans, overseeing test execution, analyzing test results, and driving continuous improvement in the QA process. The Lead QA Engineer will collaborate closely with development, product, and other stakeholders to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The role will start as an individual contributor doing many of the testing activities and working to build up a team of QA professionals.

Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Assign tasks, manage workloads, and provide guidance and feedback to team members. Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.

  • Test Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications. Define and maintain QA standards, processes, and best practices. Estimate testing efforts and timelines, and manage resources effectively.

  • Test Execution and Analysis: Oversee the execution of functional, regression, performance, and other types of testing. Analyze test results, identify defects, and track them through the defect lifecycle. Generate detailed test reports and provide insights into product quality.

  • Automation and Tools: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks. Evaluate and recommend appropriate testing tools and technologies. Drive the adoption of automation best practices to improve efficiency and coverage.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and specifications. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders regarding testing progress and issues.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software testing. Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, such as Technology and Management.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in software quality assurance.

  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers.

  • Strong experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

  • Extensive experience with test planning, test case development, and test execution.

  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Postman).

  • Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps).

  • Experience with performance testing, security testing, and API testing is a plus.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with mobile testing (iOS, Android).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB).

  • Experience with Robot Test Automation Framework
