About the job
Move forward as Procurement Manager at DSV Netherlands
The bigger the scope, the greater the challenge for you! We are looking for a Procurement professional, with a capital P. Someone who knows their way around complex, large-scale tender processes and has the confidence and ability to take the lead. You are an analytical, numbers-driven procurement specialist. Do you bring experience from a production or logistics environment? Play in a different league. Together with us, DSV. Apply now!
You get it done
Because you are that senior negotiator who knows their business. As a Procurement Manager, you set the purchasing calendar for national contracts that benefit our regional offices across The Netherlands. This means you are regularly in touch with regional managers and often visit their locations. You have a keen eye for quality and efficiency, and you know how to build and maintain strong relationships, both with external suppliers and within our internal network. Together, we work on improving and optimizing our procurement processes. And the best part is: You’re on it.
How you do this? You coordinate tender processes, select and implement suppliers, and ensure that all agreements are fulfilled. You negotiate contract terms and formalize operational arrangements in writing. In addition, you monitor and evaluate contracted suppliers based on agreed performance indicators, ensuring the quality of service and the continuity of our business operations. Collaboration, quality, and efficiency are at the heart of everything you do. You achieve this by:
- initiating tender processes and selecting (central) suppliers;
- negotiating contract terms and operational agreements;
- managing suppliers and overseeing contracts;
- supporting the regional offices in the procurement process;
- shaping and implementing procurement policy;
- developing and executing a procurement plan for the Netherlands.
Your team stands out within DSV by its combination of experience, professional expertise, and the drive to successfully complete complex procurement projects together. In addition, you act as the main contact point for Group Procurement at DSV Denmark, our headquarters. In this role as procurement manager, you report directly to the senior manager real estate, procurement & facilities.
We are DSV, we grow
DSV is a global provider of transport and logistics services. With offices in more than 90 countries and a growing network of partners, there is no place in the world we cannot reach via transport by air, sea, rail, courier or road or where we can offer storage in warehouses.
At DSV, procurement is not just about selecting the right suppliers and negotiating the best contract terms. It’s primarily about ensuring the continuity of our critical operational processes in close collaboration with those suppliers,
says Robert Speelman, Director Operations Excellence.
In the Netherlands, we operate from over 25 branches, with more than 3,000 colleagues. Together we rise to the challenge of a rapidly changing environment. We make quick decisions at every level and combine ambition and teamwork. This is how we move forward and make a difference together.
You bring
- a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Commercial Economics. NEVI or a similar procurement qualification is a plus;
- at least 5 years of work experience in a managerial role within procurement, with a focus on managing large (multi-million euro) contracts. Knowledge of tender management for temporary staffing is also a plus;
- willingness to travel within the Netherlands to visit our partners and DSV locations, mainly in the central and southern regions;
- strong command of Dutch (from B2 level) and English.
It all counts for this vacancy of procurement manager DSV Netherlands. Furthermore, it is of course important that you feel at home with us. That will certainly be possible if you like to keep going, have guts and want to grow with DSV.
