About the job

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in nuclear astrophysics at the Cyclotron Institute of Texas A&M University. Successful applicants are expected to work to exploit the results of experimental and theoretical studies at the Cyclotron Institute in stellar models and identify important nuclear-physics uncertainties for stellar models and, with local experimental and theoretical faculty and researchers, design future studies to reduce those uncertainties. Qualifications include an earned PhD in physics, astrophysics, nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics or stellar astrophysics with a focus on the modelling of astrophysical objects or systems, experience developing and running codes for simulating astrophysical nuclear reactions and in evaluation of thermonuclear reaction rates, experience working with graduate and undergraduate students, and willingness to take on advisory roles for graduate and undergraduate students. Employment in these positions includes competitive benefits through Texas A&M University; see https://employees.tamu.edu/benefits/ for details. All applications must be submitted by uploading a single pdf with cover letter indicating interest in the nuclear astrophysics position, CV with full publication list, and a brief statement of research interests at https://jobs.tamu.edu for position R-081877, Postdoctoral Research Associate. Application review will continue until the positions are filled.
