About the job
Research fields currently represented at the YITP include, but are not limited to, particle theory, cosmology, quantum field theory, string theory, condensed matter, statistical mechanics, and quantum information theory. The Institute has a tradition of collaboration with the Departments of Physics and Astronomy and of Mathematics and the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook and with Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree or foreign equivalent in theoretical physics or
closely related field, with a record of independent research. Local position titles and salaries will
depend on experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Research experience in one or more subfields currently represented in the YITP.
Brief Description of Duties:
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research in the field of the researcherâs choice in theoretical
physics. The researcher may collaborate with senior and junior members of the C.N. Yang Institute
for Theoretical Physics, as well as members of other research institutes, and may travel for research purposes.
