Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Qualifications:
Valid license to practice medicine or osteopathy in West Virginia, with current DEA certificate. Board certified or Board eligible.
Basic Function:
Provision of the full range of ambulatory primary care services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness in age group or groups specific to Physician's training, preventive and well child and or adult care, minor surgical procedures and occasional medical emergencies. Medical providers are expected to manage all patients and conditions within the scope of their training and approved privileges.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive primary health care services.
- Perform assessment, including comprehensive physical exam and age-appropriate screening procedures. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Perform waived and microscopy laboratory testing as indicated. Formulate diagnosis and develop treatment plan, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care. Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of patient status.
- Complete all appropriate documentation in a timely manner according to FamilyCare policy.
- Consult with, collaborate with or refer to other medical providers as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses on staff.
- Share after-hours telephone coverage with other Medical providers.
- Participate in research, educational activities and the teaching of students, if interested.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
- Attend clinical and staff meetings.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned.
- Observe all health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform any other tasks within their abilities as directed by the Clinical Director or Chief Executive Officer.
