Part-time Mathematics Teacher
(January 2026 start)
Purpose
Fryeburg Academy, a 700-student day and boarding high school in Western Maine and the Mount Washington Valley, seeks an innovative mathematics teacher beginning in January 2026. This part-time position involves teaching during Semester II and May Term. (The last three weeks of each school year are a stand-alone period called May Term, during which teachers offer non-traditional courses that focus on experiential learning or using knowledge in new contexts.)
Essential Job Functions
- Teach three sections of Algebra I in Semester II
- Teach two May Term classes
- Serve as an advisor for a group of 12-15 students

Qualifying Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in various educational settings.
- Experience working with students outside the classroom (e.g., tutoring, coaching, residential life or camp experience, activity advising) is a plus.
