Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op, Spring/Summer 2026 in our Syracuse, NY office. As an intern, you’ll participate in our New Product Development process and develop competency in a variety of mechanical engineering activities

Main Job Duties:

Perform, under close supervision, routine aspects of Product Design which may include:

  • Plastic component and sheet metal component design
  • Creation of Engineering Drawings and Specifications
  • Product Benchmarking
  • Design of experiments, perform tests, and document results
  • Use of Engineering software to perform tasks
  • Provide support to Engineers and Lab Technicians as needed

Salary Range: $18.00-$23.00/hour

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate’s Degree program in an associated discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Solid analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team & have good communication skills both verbal & written
  • Must provide own mode of transportation. Housing stipend available based on distance from office location.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S.
