About The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to help with the development of sub-systems and testing. Strong communication, flexibility, and the desire to “wear many hats” will all be essential skills for any successful applicant. You will be expected to teach yourself new skills and apply them to complete your tasks and projects, but you will receive guidance and mentorship along the way.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and operate test fixtures
Sub-system level analysis, design, and assembly
Document design decisions and test results quickly and effectively
Develop, document, and execute mechanical test methods
CAD modeling, tolerance analyses, and 2D drawings
Use Alloy’s hardware and software to build customer parts
Create tickets, provide feedback, and debug software, process, and hardware issues
Requirements:
You take ownership of your projects, completing tasks efficiently and effectively
You are adaptable and excel when working in a fast-paced environment
Enjoy the gritty details of part design, material selection, and drawing
Past industry co-ops or internships strongly desired
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience with rapid prototyping: 3D printing, mill, lathe, laser cutting, hand tools
SolidWorks, and experience making and modifying 2D Drawings
Firm understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
Basic SW experience is a plus: Python, linux, Jira, git, or PLC programming
Additional requirements
