Department: Mechanical Engineering

Reports to: Head of Mechanical Engineering

Company Overview

Total funding raised: $57M | Latest round: $20M

Overture Life is on a mission to make IVF more accessible and successful. We believe reproductive freedom means everyone should have the ability to choose if and when to start a family. Yet today, IVF remains expensive, inconsistent, and inaccessible to many.

Backed by top-tier investors—including Khosla Ventures, Google Ventures, and Overwater Ventures—we are transforming the embryology lab, the core of every IVF clinic, by automating its most complex and critical procedures. From egg and embryo freezing to embryo creation and beyond, we’re building a next-generation platform that leverages robotics, microfluidics, machine vision, and machine learning.

Our flagship product, DaVitri, automates the egg vitrification process, enabling it to be performed outside the traditional embryology lab. Through precise microfluidic control, DaVitri standardizes the procedure to improve outcomes and scalability.

At Overture Life, we are redefining what’s possible in reproductive medicine—with the ultimate goal of helping more people bring home a healthy baby.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Apply DFM principles and adapt designs for various manufacturing techniques including injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, helping to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain compliance with medical device standards including ISO 13485 and IEC 60601 throughout the design lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design of electro-mechanical systems or devices.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Onshape, Catia, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of prototyping and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding).
  • Strong knowledge of DFM principles and a track record of successful design-to-manufacturing transitions.
  • Experience in drafting, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Hands-on capabilities for test setup and design validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
