Job Description Epitec POSITION: Logistics Analyst JOB TYPE: W-2, 18 mo. Contract, Full-time, Dayshift, Hybrid work format LOCATION: East Peoria, IL JOB SUMMARY FOR LOGISTICS ANALYST: The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc. Reviews aged accounts payable and freight grief tickets to resolve the issue from a tactical and root cause standpoint. Works daily with suppliers, material requirements planning team (logistics planning analysts), receiving dock, and accounts payable teams to resolve work queue items. Uses MRP system to look up transactional details on parts, provide feedback, and correct issues with material not received. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR LOGISTICS ANALYST: Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications. Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities. Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials. Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Work environment: Primarily office setting. Willingness to walk through production areas as needed to search for missing parts or engage with cross-functional teams to correct issues (PPE required and can be provided). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR LOGISTICS ANALYST: Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED with 2-4 yrs. experience, OR bachelor's degree with 0-2 yrs. experience. (Willing to accept internships as relevant work experience.) REQUIRED: Strong Computer and typing skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. DESIRED: Knowledge or experience of ERP systems / MRP systems Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables). Knowledge of Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR LOGISTICS ANALYST: REQUIRED: Willingness to learn and be coachable. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
