Working closely with engineering, support, and deployment teams, we foster a collaborative environment to support Sensei’s cutting-edge retail technologies.
How Can You Help? We are looking for a skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to lead our Platform Team in delivering scalable infrastructure, reliable systems, and a seamless developer experience, while staying aligned with broader business goals.
Daily at Sensei, you will:
- Implement and manage (remotely) distributed on-premise infrastructure (servers and network).
- Implement and manage cloud (AWS) infrastructure using code (IaC).
- Manage company development, staging and production environments both on-premise and on cloud.
- Implement logging, alerting, and monitoring practices and tools for all environments.
- Design and build automated systems for the entire software development lifecycle, including building, testing and deployment.
- Create and maintain a team roadmap aligned with company strategy and vision, continuously monitoring projects progress and troubleshooting issues to meet deadlines.
- Oversee the research, design, and development of new tools and/or processes, ensuring that projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and 1:1 meetings.
You will bring to the table:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Networks Engineering or any related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience managing or mentoring engineering teams in platform or infrastructure domains, ideally in a startup context
- Passionate about DevOps and/or IT sysadmin with knowledge and experience in software development.
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Proficiency in network fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Github Actions, Terraform).
- Experience in containerization and orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash/Python).
- Experience in monitoring and observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A proactive, structured approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
- Experience with network automation tools (is a great plus).
- Experience managing on-premise infrastructure (is a great plus).
- Experience with distributed storage solutions (Ceph) (is a great plus).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) (is a great plus).
