Overview
A kind family in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles is looking for their two children ages 5 and 8. The role ideally starts mid-October to allow for overlap with their BAHS nanny who is leaving after 4 years. The schedule will be as follows: Tuesday through Friday 3-8pm and Saturday 8am-8pm. Days off will be Sunday and Monday. There is an option for additional hours Thursday mornings and date nights with notice. The family is open to live-out or live-in candidates. If live-in, there is a separate bedroom and bathroom space above the garage. This creative and fun family is looking for a long-term fit and truly value the person taking care of their children.
Responsibilities
- Full childcare including transporting to activities/sports, school pick up, helping with dinner and bedtime routines, homework assistance
- Child-related light housekeeping (keeping playroom, bedrooms, and shared spaces tidy) and cooking
- Open to taking on some family assisting down the line as the children get older
Qualifications
- Adventurous and excited to get out and about with the children, especially on Saturdays. Happy to plan outings such as Aquarium, Zoo, Travel Town, etc.
- Proactive and team player. The parents are involved so knowing when to step in and out is essential.
- Someone who is fun for the kids, but also knows the boundaries with the parents and when the grandparents want to spend time with the children
Requirements
- Willing and excited to travel including over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and summer (July 1-mid August the family is back east)
- Driver's license and clean driving record; nanny car available for work related driving
- TrustLine certified, or willing to certify
- Several years experience as a nanny caring for school age children in a private residence
- Water safe/competent swimmer and comfortable being in the water with children
- Comfortable with a friendly dog in the home
Salary and Benefits
$35 per hour plus PTO, sick days, and paid time off. The family is open to providing health reimbursement.
