WSP Middle East is currently seeking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Operations Manager in our UAE office.
Your new role, what’s involved?
As the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager, EMEAI, you will report to the IT Operations Director, EMEAI, and oversee one of our four IT infrastructure operations teams, which is dedicated to supporting our operations in the Nordics, UK, Central Europe, Middle East and India. This team includes support of network, compute, cloud, and workplace systems and services. Your primary focus will be to manage all aspects of infrastructure operations, monitoring and event management, participate in the transition of services from an incumbent provider, and actively participating in organizational governance at local and enterprise levels.
Infrastructure Operations Management
- Lead and oversee the infrastructure operations team responsible for the Nordics, UK, Central Europe, Middle East and India, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of IT infrastructure components and systems across network, compute, cloud, and workplace.
- Monitor and manage metrics and KPIs to assess infrastructure performance and reliability.
- Manage datacenter and office server room facility access, rack elevations, and environmentals in coordination with Enterprise standards.
Transition Management
- Participate in the transition of infrastructure operations from the incumbent outsourced partner to a multi-source vendor strategy, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition process with minimal disruption.
- Develop and execute transition plans, including documentation, resource allocation, and training.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including contract negotiations and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations.
Infrastructure Monitoring, Event Management, and Optimization
- Implement and execute monitoring and event management processes to proactively identify and address infrastructure issues and incidents.
- Continuously assess and improve the infrastructure environment to align with Enterprise best practices and evolving business requirements.
Organizational Governance
- Represent the infrastructure operations team in local and enterprise organizational governance meetings, contributing to strategic decisions, service alignment, and process enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders to understand and address unique infrastructure needs and requirements.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, including experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred
- Multilingual proficiency (English and Spanish or French preferred).
- Experience working in a global organization with a diverse workforce.
