About the job
The Investment Banking Analyst is an entry level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing corporate finance and strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Work with senior Investment Banking officers and professionals and participate in client transactions projects or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team
- Understands accounting concepts, reviews and extracts information from financial statements/filings, and incorporates it into financial analysis
- Prepare marketing materials, valuation and statistical exhibits etc. for pitches and live deals
- Build efficient and accurate financial models/analyses
- Source market/industry/product information to conduct research independently
- Reviews and delivers work in a timely manner
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally
- Manages across multiple projects, assignments and teams concurrently
- Works with team to adhere to and track internal processes while building an understanding of internal policies and procedures
- Demonstrates ability to understand relevant legal documents
- Demonstrates interest in understanding and applying market/industry/product trends and knowledge to clients and projects
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration
- Experience in evaluating corporate transactions and structures
- Experience creating financial analyses
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
