ICT Project Manager – Kingston – 9 Month Contract – £370 per day (inside IR35) – Start date early June.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Project Manager responsible for managing projects to help deliver the ICT Development Programme.
Your duties and responsibilities will include;
* Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of small, medium and large-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
* Effectively estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference.
* Works within the Council’s ITIL Framework.
* Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria.
* Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
* Evaluates and makes recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate.
To be suitable for this opportunity; the following qualifications or experience is required:
* Experience of managing multiple medium-scale ICT related projects.
* An excellent working knowledge of the main principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation.
* Significant experience in the development of Business Cases and Proofs of Concepts / Prototyping to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need.
* An understanding of common project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile, etc, with an appreciation of the associated benefits of each approach.
* Excellent working knowledge of ITIL practices.
* Experience in risk assessment, including the identification, assessment and management of project risks, which could result in time or cost over-runs, or failure to deliver products which are fit for purpose.
